Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GodlyChat ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Description of Service

GodlyChat is an AI-powered application that enables users to have conversations with AI representations of Bible characters. Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and are grounded in Scripture, but they are not a substitute for professional theological counsel, pastoral guidance, or personal Bible study.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use GodlyChat. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to update it as necessary. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to manipulate the AI to generate harmful, hateful, or misleading content
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the Service
  • Use the Service to promote or engage in any form of harassment or abuse
  • Redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit AI-generated content without permission

6. AI-Generated Content

All character responses are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive to ensure responses are faithful to Scripture and historically informed, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, theological interpretations that differ from your tradition, or errors. You acknowledge that:

  • AI responses do not constitute theological advice or doctrine
  • The AI characters are fictional representations, not the actual biblical persons
  • You should verify important theological claims with Scripture and qualified spiritual leaders
  • We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content

7. Subscription and Payments

Free Tier

The free tier provides up to 5 messages per day with standard AI models and 30 days of conversation history.

Pro Tier

GodlyChat Pro is available at GHS 20 per month or GHS 230 per year and includes unlimited messages, faster AI models, full conversation history, and additional features. Payments are processed by Paystack.

Billing

Pro subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

8. Intellectual Property

The GodlyChat name, logo, design, and underlying technology are owned by GodlyChat. You retain ownership of the messages you submit. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your messages for the purpose of generating AI responses and improving the Service.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GODLYCHAT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
